Why We Are
The formation of Sourcery is a direct response to the misuse of money and power by the US government. The US government has historically and continues to this day, to control The People through the use of fear, racism and misogyny in a continuous shell game pitting one
beleaguered group against the other. In the book, "A Peoples History of the United States", Howard Zinn documents the evolution of this process that we live with today.
Free speech allows an unrelenting cry of “Make Your Voice Heard” which is as mythical as the American Dream. Neither are feasible when few control the wealth and determine what the interests of this country really are. If we have learned anything from the past few decades, it
should be that voting and funding non-profit organizations will never produce the results so many of us have dreamed possible. All people of the United States of America, who are not considered Ultra-High-Net-Worth-Individuals, have no voice and no power. We are manipulated
to believe that a better future awaits while being economically controlled to minimize our ability to resist or even recognize the corrupt system. It is not just politicians that must be changed, it is the current method of governing that is based on unadulterated greed and a seeming belief that in order to improve one’s own life, another person must be deprived. This is simply not true.
In an effort of resistance, Sourcery is not associated with the government in anyway. Sourcery has no CEO to be assassinated, no board of directors, or leadership hierarchy. We offer an alternative to the current methods of community service and philanthropic giving, which
currently are primarily about giving to get. (for example: donations for a tax deduction and non-profit CEOs making six figure salaries) We do not accept cash, give cash or pay any of our volunteers. Removing monetization from our efforts allows us to operate outside of bureaucratic
rules, conditions, and qualifiers. We operate solely on donations of goods, services and time. If all you have to give is money, we ask you to buy locally from ethical small vendors, to donate goods or services per the needs of the program you would like to support
Volunteer time, and donated goods and services will not be tracked or documented. There will not be any requirements to ‘qualify’ to receive goods and services. As an unregulated group the government will in no-way benefit monetarily from anything we do. We believe that this type of direct aid and direct action to The People and by The People, will illustrate what can be accomplished when the true ‘interests’ of the United States lie only in the concern for the quality of life for all who live here.
